Why Don’t My Gloves Have the Palm Covering?

Ever unboxed a fresh pair of gloves, ready to peel off that oh-so-satisfying protective film, only to realize… there isn’t one? No, we didn’t forget it. And no, it hasn’t been stolen by a rogue goalkeeper in the night. It all comes down to the latex type!

NXT Advance – Giga Latex

The NXT Advance gloves use Giga Latex on the palms, which is a high-quality game latex but is manufactured differently from Contact Latex. Unlike Contact Latex, which requires a protective film during production, Giga Latex is ready to go straight out of the bag—no peeling needed. This keeps the cost down compared to our elite-level gloves like the NXT Pro or OG1 while still giving you excellent grip.

Wave NGT – Cyclone Latex

If you’re rocking the Wave NGT, you’ve got Cyclone Latex, which is built for wet conditions. It doesn’t come with a plastic film either, but here’s the trick—this latex activates its best grip when damp. To get the best performance:

  • Pre-wash before first use to remove any production residue.
  • Dampen before each match—Cyclone Latex thrives when slightly wet.
  • Keep it moist during play for maximum grip and durability.

If your gloves don’t have a film, they’re not missing anything—they’re just designed that way! For more details on getting the most out of your gloves, check out our Grip Activation Guide.

But if they’re not to your liking and are still in brand-new, unused condition, you can swap them out using our Returns Process.
